FACILITY INFORMATION

WSF Soccer North is similar in concept to the SUBWAY® Soccer South indoor facility and features many amenities to enhance the player and spectator experience. Here is an overview of some of the features of the facility.

Playing Field: the synthetic turf field allows for full, half and quarter field play plus has some added turfed areas outside of the playing area that can be used for game preparation and warm-ups. The indoor turf provides the closest playing experience to real grass while also decreases turf burn and injuries.

The field can be separated into three formations – full field, half fields or quarter fields. Curtains can be electronically lowered to divide the field to best suit your sport or activity.

Here are the different formations that the field can be configured in:

  • Quarter Field Formation: A quarter field formation is when all the curtains are down and the field is set up with nets sized 12'w x 6'6"h. You will be using the yellow line markings on the field. The quarter field playing surface is 99' x 156' (30m x 48m).
  • Half Field Formation: A half field formation in when only the north/south centre curtains are down and the field is set up with nets sized 16'5"w x 6'7"h. You will be using the red line field markings. The half field playing surface is 156' x 210' (48m x 64m).
  • Full Field Formation: A full field formation is when all the curtains are up and you will be playing with nets sized 24'w x 8'h. You will be using the white line markings on the field. Field size is 210' x 330' (64m x 101m).

Main Foyer: WSF Soccer North has a large main foyer with ample space for users to enter and exit the facility, as well as room for parents to await their children after their games. There is a north and east side entrance/exit, elevator, staircase, water fountain, public washroom, universal/family washroom and a full glass wall looking onto field level. The area also contains the Information Booth as well as the player doors to enter field level.

Information Booth, sponsored by Sirius Benefit Plans: users will find the Information Booth in the centre of the main foyer. A WSF staff person will be here to assist you with dressing room key pick-up, rental payments, lost and found, or to provide you with general assistance. The entrance to field level is located beside the booth.

Dressing Rooms: four dressing rooms were added to field level to give teams a total of 16 rooms. Teams will be provided with a key to the door of each room to allow for private use while on the field.  Each room has ample bench seating, clothing hooks, three showers, one bathroom stall and automatic room lighting. There are also two large rooms designated for referees located on the west side of the field.

Spectator Viewing: the second level is ideal for spectators with a wide concourse that surrounds the field for full 360 degree viewing capacity. Two rows of bench seating are located on the north and south sides of the field with standing room on the east and west sides. Also surrounding the field is a guardrail with glass to allow for a clear view of the field from all angles.

Concourse & Canteen: behind the seating areas is additional concourse space to provide easier maneuverability throughout the facility, or to gather with your team before or after a game.  Public washrooms and a universal/family washroom, are also located just inside the main concourse entrance.

A full-service canteen is located on the south side of the facility. It will be equipped with seating and be fully licensed for adult users groups.

Parking Lot: a fully paved parking lot with lights is located on the east side of the facility. Parking is free at all times of the day. You can access this lot by travelling east on Leila Avenue or enter from Kingsbury beside the hockey arena.

Water Fountains and Bottle Refill Station:  Water fountains are located around the playing surface as well as in the main entrance.  A water bottle refill station is also provided to players and is located at field level in the centre of the dressing rooms and adjacent to the first aid room.

Lost & Found: if you have lost an item at WSF Soccer North, or have found something that belongs to someone else, please go to the Information Booth in the main entrance. To inquire about a lost and found item, please stop by the Information Booth or call the WSF main office during business hours at 204-953-4747.

First Aid: An injury can occur at any time and the WSF have put procedures in place to assist with emergency situations.

  • First Aid Room: All teams should come prepared with their own first aid kits to have at their benches. Should an injury require additional aid, the first aid room is located at field level in the centre of all the dressing rooms. If someone has been injured, locate a WSF staff person to gain access to the first aid room. This room is equipped with an oxygen tank, wheelchair, massage table and basic first aid supplies. There is also a freezer located outside the room for easy access to ice packs. WSF staff are trained to assist you with basic first aid but if you have a more serious injury, please seek professional medical aid immediately.
  • AED: The complex is equipped with two Automated External Defibrillators (AED), located on the concourse as well as at field level beside the first aid room.
  • 9-1-1 Emergence Services: For quick access to emergency services, a designated 9-1-1 Phone is located on the wall across beside the first aid room. Open the box, lift the phone receiver and you will be automatically connected to 9-1-1. Further directions are located by the phone. If you have called 9-1-1, please notify WSF staff immediately so they can coordinate emergency services upon arrival.
